Uninstall Conflicting Applications Temporarily Disable Firewall And Antivirus Software
Certain applications on computers can prevent it from accessing the internet even if your computer says that there is a connection. In most cases, antivirus software is the culprit. If you have third-party antivirus software on your computer, try disabling it to see if the problem resolves itself.
Here is how to temporarily disable Windows Defender Firewall:
Do the same with any other antivirus or firewall software that you have installed on your computer.
Solution 2 Reset Modem
The second way to fix the wifi showing connected but no internet access issue is to reset your modem to factory defaults. For modem factory reset, just unplug and re-plug it. Or you can do it via your Xfinity App.
Step 1. Open your Xfinity My Account App.
Step 2. Scroll down to select the Internet option.
Step 3. Choose Modem/Router.
Step 4. Finally, click Restart This Device.
After resetting, check the device that cannot connect to the network before seeing the result. If the device is able to surf the Internet, you have successfully solved the problem. If not, continue with the below fixes.
Visit A Few Different Websites
If a website youre visiting doesnt load, go to another website to see if that one does load. Does it load up properly? That means the original website you went to could be down for all visitors.
If no websites load properly, then the connection problem is most likely on your end or happening with your provider.

Connecting To Wifi Network But No Internet Access
I have a Dell LatitudeE 6400 running Windows 7 G4 bit. I have had it since September and have never had a problem, but a few days ago I suddenly lost my internet connection. The computer says I am connected to my wifi network but have no internet access. After running a diagnostic it was recommended that I reboot the router, but that did not help. I tried restoring my computer to an earlier time, before I lost the internet and that did not help either. All of my room-mates computers have internet access through the same wifi network and have had no trouble. I went to another location and with another wifi network was able to connect to the internet there. I am at a loss to explain the problem, it seems to be an issue specifically between my computer and my wifi network only.
My IP Configuration is below.
I was wondering if anyone here has had a similar problem or knows what the problem might be. I am not at all knowledgeable about the workings of computers and any suggestions would be appreciated.
I to have this same issue.
I have a Dell Inspiron 3521, the onboard Wi-Fi card connects to the router with 100% signal.
Gets a correct IP address but is unable to ping the router or load any web pages, including the router web interface.
I have installed a USB Wi-Fi adapter and this works.
In desperation I have installed winds again from scratch. but again the onboard Wi-Fi card does not allow you to get out.
OS: Windows 10
Wi-Fi adapter: Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b|g|n

Restart Modem & Router
To do this, pull the power plug from your modem and router and let them stay unplugged for about two or so minutes.
Next, plug in the modem, let it boot up, and then plug in the router. Wait a few minutes for both devices to start up again and confirm theyre working correctly. This helps reset any background issues and flushes the routers memory contents.
If there are no lights on any of them, its likely a hardware issue. If you still have no internet connection after restarting the modem and router, try the next step.
Turn Off The Antivirus
From time to time antivirus programs turn out to be the reason of the notification Secured, No internet on Windows. Try to temporary disable protection and check if you have the Internet access. If the Internet works when you unload your Antivirus try the following solutions:
- disable its Firewall component.
- Go to Network settings > change adapter options > right click WiFi > uncheck the driver of your antivirus.
Disabling your antivirus is not a fix itself. But if the Internet connected after you turned your antivirus program you can now think how to cope with problem. For example, disable the firewall component.
We have never met such situations on Android, but you can also try to uninstall the anti-virus app on your mobile device to ensure it is not the culprit.

The Symptoms For This Error
When this happens to your Windows PC, youll see an exclamation mark inside a yellow warning triangle. There is a message that reads WiFi connected but no internet for Windows 10 computers.
If this happens on a mobile device, you might see just an exclamation mark and a note that reads Connected, no internet access..
Some mobile User Interfaces might even ask you if you wish to disconnect from that network since it is not connected to the internet.

How To Fix It When You Have No Internet Connection
Follow these troubleshooting steps when you have Wi-Fi but no internet.
Reboot your router and modem. The first step in troubleshooting most tech problems, and especially networking hardware issues, is to restart. Rebooting the router and modem flushes the memory and resets background or lingering problems. You’ll need to log in to your router as admin.
Rebooting is different than resetting. Rebooting shuts down and then starts back up the router/modem.
Reset Your Router To Default Settings
If youve tried everything else to no avail, it may be time to reset your router to its factory settings. This is a pretty big step to take because it will restore the router to the way it was when you first pulled it out of the box, wiping the slate clean.
Resetting the router will erase your password and issue a default one . It will also erase any memory of custom features or guest networks youve set up through the router, and it will kick off all the devices that were signed onto the network.
Getting everything back up and running again will definitely take a chunk of time out of your day, so this is worth trying only if you have no other options.
Anyway, heres how you do it: Unplug the router and then use a safety pin or paperclip to push the button hidden in the tiny hole at the back of the router. Hold it down for a few moments and plug the router back in. After that, you can set up the router again just like new.

The Satellite Routers On My Mesh Network Arent Connecting
Make sure that your satellite devices are powered up and turned on. If they are, try unplugging and replugging the problematic device and see if it will connect to your network then. If your router app allows you to restart a Wi-Fi point , then reboot that point and see if this helps, too.
Google also allows you to run a test to make sure the network is set up properly. You can find Wifi points on the Home app, under Test mesh. If the test comes back with a weak or failed connection, you should try repositioning your satellite routers to be closer to your primary router. This also is a good tactic for any mesh system that keeps dropping its satellite points they could be too far away from the primary point.
You can also double-check to make sure that your satellite router devices have a different SSID than your primary router. If they were accidentally all assigned the same SSID, then the mesh network may not be able to coordinate properly.
If your router still seems unable to connect, then make sure that nothing significant has changed for your network settings. For example, if your ISP WAN type changed for some reason, you may have to go back into settings for the router and make sure that the right WAN setting is chosen.
There are additional special cases where certain Wi-Fi technology can interfere with mesh networks, so its also a good idea to contact router support directly and explain your situation if nothing is working.

Nothing Can Connect To Wi
If you cant connect to your Wi-Fi at all, plug your laptop into the router directly using an Ethernet cable, and see if you can connect that way. If that works, your Wi-Fi is the problem but if it doesnt, then your internet may be down altogether. Check your ISPs webpage and social accounts, or give them a call to see if they are reporting problems. Sometimes providers can be a little slow to note issues, so you can also check with a monitoring site like Downdetector, and see if other users in your region are reporting problems.
Resetting your router can fix myriad issues, and an inability to connect is one of them. Press the reset button on the back of the router with a paperclip for 30 seconds, and the router should default to factory settings. Use our guide to setting up a wireless router to get everything properly configured.
If thats no use, you may need to consider buying a new router.
