TWO GIRLS CAUGHT USING TACO BELLS WIFI, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS WHOLESOME!! #Shorts

A California school district sent a local family a hotspot after two girls were forced to use the free Wi-Fi in a Taco Bell parking lot to complete their schoolwork.

The Salinas City Elementary School District stepped in to help after a touching photo of the two young girls sitting outside the fast-food eatery went viral, CNN reported.

The photo shows the two conscientious students, one wearing a pink coat, sitting outside the restaurant with laptops and a pen and paper while two Taco Bell employees speak to them.

The image prompted educators, who declined to identify the family, to take action and make internet access available to them.

The digital divide is very real and delays in receiving needed technology are a statewide concern, school district president Amy Ish said in a statement to the network. We are grateful the state is making technology a priority and look forward to receiving these hotspots in our district.

School officials said the image highlights the challenge of remote learning for some families amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Taco Bell Is Getting Wi

Sometimes it feels like Taco Bell has teamed up with every major brand under the sun. An ongoing partnership with Frito-Lay has blessed us with Doritos Locos Tacos. Thankfully, the chain convinced Hershey to let it put Kit Kats in its new Chocoladilla. Heck, the company even recently worked with Forever21 on a new clothing line. But despite all that, the fast food brands latest deal might actually have more of an impact on your Taco Bell experience than any other: The Mexican chain has inked an agreement with Comcast to provide guest Wi-Fi at more than 6,200 locations across the U.S.

Wi-Fi isnt new to Taco Bell. Back in 2011, the chain promised free internet in all of the brands then-5,600 restaurants by 2015 thanks to an agreement with Indoor Direct. But six years is forever in internet time, and apparently the Bell is hoping that Comcast can do some serious upgrading to the companys wireless system. Though Comcast plans to overhaul all of Taco Bells digital communications services, both for customers and behind the scenes, as far as people dropping in for one of those new burritos that basically have Pop Rocks in them are concerned, Comcast Business says the plan is to bring new networks to each restaurant capable of minimum download speeds of 20 Mbps and upload speeds of 3 Mbps.

Taco Bell To Bring Free Wifi Tv To All 5600 Restaurants

Food Theory: Does Taco Bell ACTUALLY Wreck Your Stomach?

WiFi and fast food seem to go together like a greasy entree washed down with a Coke. Taco Bell is the latest to promise its patrons free WiFi in all of its U.S. restaurants — that’s 5,600 locations. And, if that weren’t reason enough to linger in those lovely plastic chairs over a plate of Chalupas, Taco Bell is also throwing in a free side of TV, too.

Granted, Taco Bell is a little late to the scene with free WiFi. McDonald’s, Starbucks and most Burger King locations have had free WiFi for years. As for TV, the same system that Taco Bell will be installing is already in place at McDonalds, Wendy’s, Arby’s, Carls Jr., Denny’s, Hardees and KFC, to name a few. A company named indoorDIRECT will be implementing both the WiFi and the television.

indoorDIRECT offers “magazine-style” television shows, run on an Internet-based television network it calls “The Restaurant Entertainment Network.” According to indoorDirect, more than 150 million Americans consume its magazine-like television shows along with their fries at over 1,000 brands of fast-food chains. By magazine-style shows, the company means sports clips, entertainment news and “lifestyle content” of the morning show variety. No need to talk to your companions while dining at these joints anymore. In fact, no need to bring companions with you at all when you indulge.

Does Taco Bell Have Free Internet

Viral Photo Shows Two Little Girls Using Taco Bell WiFi To Do School ...

Since 1962, Taco Bell has been famous for their tasty Tex-Mex food. Say you want to enjoy some of Taco Bells food and also sit for a while and use Wi-Fi for internet access while enjoying a Crunchwrap, can you?

Taco Bell does offer their guests free internet and Wi-Fi while they are eating in their restaurants.

Places with free Wi-Fi typically only have one request and that is that you can use the free Wi-Fi if you are buying something from them. The free Wi-Fi perk is only available to paying customers.

This is to be expected however since they want you to purchase food or drinks at their stores. So using the free Wi-Fi is just a way for those who need to get some online searching or work done to enjoy their meals and internet access at the same time.

Taco Bell is just one of the places where you can enjoy free Wi-Fi. Many other fast food restaurants like McDonalds and Subway offer their guests free internet access as well.

There are even retail stores that provide you with free Wi-Fi if you need it. Best Buy, Lowes, and Target are some of the places where you can get some free Wi-Fi while you are visiting their stores.

So, if you are craving some Taco Bell and also need to get online for work, they have you covered.

Taco Bell To Provide Free Wi

Taco Bell will be outfitting all its US restaurants with free Wi-Fi and TV screens that will air music, lifestyle, entertainment and sports content in a bid to improve customers’ in-store eating experience.

But last week’s announcement is a belated move in the fast-food world, where chains like Starbucks and McDonald’s already offer free Wi-Fi to their customers.

The latter, for instance, provides free Wi-Fi at 11,500 locations across the US.

Since last July 1, all Starbucks outlets across the US and Canada began offering free, unlimited Wi-Fi. Prior to that, customers needed to sign in with an account and password, and were limited to two hours of internet use a day.

Burger King also announced last year that it would start offering free Wi-Fi in 2,200 of its restaurants in 12 countries throughout Europe, including Germany, the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, all US Taco Bell locations will also feature TV screens that air programs from Restaurant Entertainment Network, the same service used by Denny’s, Arby’s, Wendy’s, Carl’s Jr, and Hardee’s.

The magazine-style show theBite and theBite Weekend feature short, punchy hits on entertainment and sports news, movie, TV and video game previews, and lifestyle segments that include product reviews, seasonal shopping tips and travel and leisure news.

The Digital Divide Is A National Issue

Taco Bell Parking Lot Becomes School for Kids without Wi-Fi Access!

While the photo might be throwing the national spotlight on California, it illustrates a wide-sweeping issue present in all 50 states. Approximately 15 to 16 million K-12 public school students in the U.S. live in homes that lack high-speed internet and/or a distance learning device , according to an analysis from Common Sense Media and the Boston Consulting Group published in June.

The report pointed out that while the digital divide affects students in all types of communities, it’s “most pronounced in rural communities and households with Black, Latinx, and Native American students.”

They also found that southern states tend to exhibit the largest digital divide for K-12 students. Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama show the largest deficit by proportion, and Texas, California, and Florida the largest gaps by population.

Viral Photo Shows Kids With No Internet Using Taco Bell Wifi To Do Homework

A photo of two girls doing distance learning in a Taco Bell parking lot because they didnt have wifi at home in East Salinas, California, went viral last week. After a Monterey County Supervisor posted a photo of the two girls after seeing it on Instagram and, of course, covering their faces because they are children the photo blew up on Twitter, especially after Luis Alejo, the supervisor, called for a universal broadband infrastructure for students in the area, given that these two girls, who did not have the internet at home, had to go work in a parking lot in order to get their essential school work done remotely.

CALIFORNIA NEEDS A UNIVERSAL BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE BOND FOR OUR STUDENTS

Luis Alejo

According to another California legislator, Kevin de Leon, 40 percent of Latinos dont have internet access, which is a huge problem normally but a more acute one at a time when school districts are either doing full-time remote learning or blended learning where kids are expected to be able to access the internet a few days a week. Luckily, Salinas City Elementary School District identified the two students and gave the family a hot spot so that they could access the internet from their homes.
