Connect Wireless Mouse Via Bluetooth
To connect a wireless mouse to the computer, you can achieve that through the Bluetooth. But it may only be applicable to the Bluetooth wireless mouse.

1. Press Windows key and I key together to open Settings.
2. In the Settings window, choose Devices.

Three: Pair Your Devices
Now that you have the dongle installed, youre ready to pair a device. Well demonstrate the process by hooking up one of the speakers we used in our guide to portable Bluetooth speakers.
After inserting the dongle , a Bluetooth icon should appear in the system tray as seen in the screenshot below. Right-click the icon and choose Add a Bluetooth Device from the context menu.
If youre using Windows 8 or 10, youll see a screen like the one below. Just hit the Pair button for the device you want to connect.
If youre using Windows 7or a previous versionyoull see a screen like this one instead. Select the device you want to connect and then hit Next.

Connect To A Wireless Display
Getting connected isn’t tricky but may not be the most intuitive procedure. The steps are the same irrespective of what you’re connecting to, whether it’s a projector, another Windows PC or a wireless display adapter.
The quickest way to connect is using a keyboard shortcut. Press Win+K to open Windows 10’s Connect panel, which will appear as a flyout to the right of your screen. Alternatively, you can click the “Connect” quick settings tile in Action Center to launch this flyout.
The Connect pane lets you connect to a variety of wireless devices, including audio receivers, accessories and Bluetooth products. Most importantly for us, it will detect wireless display receivers, such as Miracast display adapters. To make sure every possible device shows up, you may need to enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth you can use Action Center’s tiles to do this.
Make sure the device you want to connect to is turned on and then look for it in the Connect pane. After a few seconds, it should show up in the list and you’ll be able to tap it to connect. At this stage, you may need to follow any instructions which appear on the device you’re connecting to.
Generally, Windows will take a moment to initiate the connection, before the device gets activated as an additional display. You’ll then see it show up as “Connected” in the Connect pane.

Getting Your Pc Connected Directly Via Ethernet
Again, a direct connection with Ethernet is the best way to go in most cases. Using an Ethernet cable with your PC will give you the most direct and fastest connection available with your ISP .
You can find Ethernet cables at many different lengths depending on how long of a cable you need to connect your PC to your router/modem and theyre available for a pretty low price as well.
Id recommend going with because they are made well and theyre available for multiple lengths.
I use a couple of different lengths of Ethernet for my PC. Sometimes I take it into a bigger room for VR for example, so I went with the 50 ft. cable for when I need it in another room.
Otherwise, 14 ft. should be enough length if your router/modem is in the same room as your PC.
After you get a cable, you will simply need to plug it into your router/modem and plug the other end into the Ethernet port that is on your motherboard.
I have always used an Ethernet cable with my PC, but I also have a wireless adapter installed just in case I need it.
For example, if I go anywhere and Im bringing my PC along with me, its nice to have the option of being able to connect wirelessly.
There are plenty of options when it comes to adding a wireless adapter, so lets go over those options.
Use Your Laptop To Share Wifi
Heres how you can use your laptop to connect your PC to wireless internet:
- First off, turn on your laptop and make sure it is connected to your wifi.
- Go to the control panel and then click on network and internet.
- Next, click on the first option that says network and sharing center.
- On the left, youll see some options. Click on the one which says change adapter settings.
- Find the wireless network thats connected to your laptop and right-click on it.
- A box will open up, showing wifi properties. On the top, hit the sharing tab.
- Next, tick the box that says allow other network users to connect through the computers internet connection.
- Now, connect your laptop and PC together through an ethernet cable.
- Your PC will recognize the connection, and youre ready to surf the web.
- However, in some cases, you may have to select the ethernet option after connecting the cable. Right-click on this and select Bridge Connections.

Use Your Smartphone As An Adapter
You can connect to a wifi network without any kind of adapter if you have a hotspot or a WiFi-enabled device that you can connect to your desktop computer.
A smartphone, either iPhone or Android, is an obvious choice for a wifi hotspot that you probably already have handy. This method also works with tablets or portable wifi hotspots.
To turn your phone into a WiFi adapter for your desktop, youll first need to connect it to your computer with a USB cable. Your charging cable will work for this you dont need speciality equipment.
Once your phone is connected to the computer, make sure your phone is also connected to the wifi, and your sharing settings allow other devices to see and access the wifi.
Some phone models require you to turn on a special setting to use them as a hotspot, and others will show up automatically as a network option on your computer.
When your phone settings are adjusted properly to be a hotspot, you should be able to connect to the WiFi network the same way you connect to any other network.
While this method doesnt need any new equipment, it could still cost you money. Your cell phone plan and your internet provider might charge you a fee to use your cell phone as a hotspot.
It might also use the data thats on your cell phone plan. This method would work well in a pinch but isnt a long-term solution for connecting your PC to WiFi.

Positioning The Wireless Router
Put your wireless router somewhere where it will receive the strongest signal with the least amount of interference. For better results, follow these tips:
Place your wireless router in a central location. Place the router as close to the center of your home as possible to increase the strength of the wireless signal throughout your home.
Position the wireless router off the floor and away from walls and metal objects, such as metal file cabinets. The fewer physical obstructions between your PC and the router’s signal, the more likely that you’ll be using the router’s full signal strength.
Reduce interference. Some networking equipment uses a 2.4 gigahertz radio frequency. This is the same frequency as most microwaves and many cordless phones. If you turn on the microwave or get a call on a cordless phone, your wireless signal might be temporarily interrupted. You can avoid most of these issues by using a cordless phone with a higher frequency, such as 5.8 GHz.
