Possible Solution #: Delete And Re

Change Ring Doorbell WIFI Network

If you didnt want to call up Ring, though, another option is to delete the Ring Alarm and re-add it to the app. Its worth pointing out, though, that this approach should be used with caution. The Base Station still must be put into pairing mode as part of the setup process, so that it emits the relevant Bluetooth signal to be noticed by the app:

Its entirely possible that you cant add the Base Station again from within the Ring app, meaning youre stuck with a Base Station that simply doesnt work anymore.

So for me, I just went with solution #5 below..!

Ring Doorbell is a Wi-Fi doorbell that is actually more than a doorbell. Yes, it fills the shoes of your typical doorbell but adds an impressive video intercom system that allows you to talk to your visitors, from your smartphone or tablet. You can do all of this from home, or from wherever, just as long as youre connected to the internet.

Ring Doorbell Video devices are packed with useful features, the app is extremely user-friendly, and everything is easy-to-connect to Wi-Fi. Heres how to change the Wi-Fi network on your Ring Doorbell.

Using Ring With Other Devices

Use the desktop app to stay connected: When sitting at your desk, or gaming with headphones, the desktop app is a lot more convenient than using your phone all the time. It will bring those alerts to your computer. You can for Mac, Windows, iOS or Android.

This is a great option if you’re looking for a new video doorbell.

Use Alexa to view Ring Video: Alexa supports Ring and the Echo Show and Spot can view the Ring video feed. Simply install the Ring Skill through the Alexa app to enable linking. Then you can ask Alexa to show your Ring Video Doorbell on an Echo Show or similar.

Answer your door with Echo Show or Echo Spot: When your doorbell is pressed, you can ask Alexa to answer the door – just say “Alexa, answer the front door” and you’ll be able to talk to whoever is at the door. If it’s not working, try uninstalling the Ring Alexa skill and reinstalling.

Use Alexa Routines to create custom actions: Ring is now one of the devices supported by Alexa Routines. This means you can have Alexa perform particular actions when motion is detected or the doorbell is pressed. That might be change a light colour or make a custom announcement. You can set them up in your Alexa app, with full instructions here.

Wi-Fi routers usually have two different frequencies-2.4 and 5 GHz, respectively. The 2.4 GHz frequency has a better range, but it is slower compared to the 5 GHz one. Also, it is important to note which frequency your doorbell is compatible with. Some versions are only compatible with one particular frequency. If you have a Dual-band Wi-Fi router, then you can opt for the frequency you desire. For a fast connection, choose the 5 GHz frequency.

The official advice here is to basically do nothing different. I know, it doesnt sound very helpful. But some users have reported that they closed their Ring app, pressed the pairing button again , and it eventually worked after 5-10 attempts.

This is the IT equivalent of have you tried turning it off and then on again? But it apparently has worked for some people, so its probably worth trying things again.

As you can guess though, it didnt work for me. I tried pressing the pairing button loads of times, but nothing helped. So I moved onto the next step.
