Re: Ex6120 Wifi Extender Connected To Cell Phone Mobile Hotspot
I found my problem. The TPLink TL-WR802N travel router has a DHCP Server, so devices attached to it get IP addresses in a new subnet. The TL-WR802N then looks like one device to the cell phone mobile hotspot. The Netgear EX6120 does not have a DHCP Server, and devices attached to it get IP addresses from the cell phone mobile hotspot. My cell phone plan allows unlimited hotspot data but only with one attached device at a time. So my solution is to stay with the TPLink travel router for now.
Checking Your Wifi Router Before Setting Up A Wifi Extender
Theres no point in wasting your time installing a wifi extender if your router is in poor working condition. A good wifi router will operate nicely for a few years, but if you have had the same router for four or five years, its probably time to get a new one. Even if it seems to be working well, a new router will give off a better signal.
If your router is new and still has a poor signal, make sure you have it setup in a central location. If youre still getting poor coverage or not the range you would like, a wifi extender is the next best step.
Visible: The Low Cost Van Life Internet Option
If the price for a service like Reliable Internet Solutions goes beyond your budget, you may want to check out the service Visible.
Visible is one of the most talked-about phone plans amongst van lifers. This company claims for just $40/month, you get unlimited high-speed data, which you can then send to your other devices.
However, keep in mind that you can only tether ONE DEVICE AT A TIME to your hotspot, which is also your phone. This isnt ideal if you have two people trying to get work done on their computer. Each would need a Visible plan and hotspot.
Heres some stats about Visible:
- Operates on Verizons network with 4G LTE
- Unlimited data, messages and minutes
- You may experience some slowdown of data during peak times
- You can only connect one device at a time to your hotspot

Does Amazon Fire Stick Work With Mobile Hotspot
Yes it does! Nevertheless, it depends on the quality of data connection you get from your service provider.
The least you need is to have 4 MB/S speed that means minimum of 32 mbps of bandwidth to allow an easy buffering.
2ndly, your data-use limit should be at least 7 GB / day.
Why? Because watching full HD content is so much data consuming that watching even a single video will consume up to 5-6 GB easily within a 2 minutes video. Non HD videos will also take nearly 2-3 GB data. So its better to cater for a normal use.

You will agree with me that once hotspot connection is established, it is more frustrating when its lost again.
One good way to prevent this frequent losing of connection is to have Wi-Fi booster but we are concerned with hotspot here
Of course, such issues mostly arise from the poor bandwidth coming from hotspot connection. So its imperative that you always double check that everything is super right from the mobile side.
And, both of your devices are running on the updated software.
Internet connection is one of the most common problems in case of outdated software.
Nevertheless, the last recourse could still be a factory reset to correct issues with hotspot connectivity.
Home Internet And Wifi Extender
There is no reason why a wifi extender cannot work with the home internet service. If youre looking to buy an extender I would suggest confirming that it will work with an existing wifi router .
My one experience was w. a Netgear extender. Not only was speed cut almost in half – but the signal emanating therefrom had a slightly diff. name. Couldnt set up a whole home speaker system because of lack of similar name. Got the mesh system at that point.
The issue may have been the 10 device limit on each band. Thats a real bummer for an otherwise great experience. Wondering if if the extender counts as one 1/10 devices the I can connect more to that extender to essentially loophole the ten device limit.
I cant get Netgear or TP-Link extenders to work. Blocks main 2.4 connection until I turn off extender. Tried the factory reset twice on each one. Probably some tiny simple but can figure it out. Any suggestions?
Still having issues with this. Cannot get three different extenders to work. Its not related to the 10 device limit either. I can get the extender to work with TMobile Hotspot though. Just not Home Internet. Any suggestions?
Just curious I have the new t mobile home internet gateway is there a good cheap booster to make the signal distance long and better
I am wondering the same and hoping for an answer in plain, non-tech-expert language. Thanks!

Keep The Packaging And Directions
If you follow these steps, youre not likely to even need to look at the wifi extender directions, but dont toss out the packaging or the directions. While Netgear makes some of the best wifi extenders on the market, no tech product is immune from being defective. Hold on to the packaging just in case it doesnt work.
Re: Using Wn3000rpv3 To Extend Iphone Personal Hotspot
Did you ever resolve this please. I am wanting do exctly the same thing, or via Windows10 hotspot
If your hotspot has a WPS button you should be able to connect that way if not you will need to connect to the extender and go to www.mywifiext.net then do the setup and connect to the aircards wireless network.

Ways To Use Your Phone As Wifi Repeater
Earlier versions of Android do have the WiFi repeater feature, this can be found with different names on every different phone. Samsung introduced it with the Galaxy S7 series, as WiFi-sharing, while Honor called it WiFi Bridge. Then later on it got was removed from later versions of Android, and then again it was added within newer versions. Now few modern-day phones have this feature like those from Oneplus and Realme. There are few ways to use your phone as a Wifi repeater.

How Does A Wifi Extender Work
Basically, the Wifi Range Extender or WiFi Booster or sometimes called WiFi Extender is a device that repeats the wireless signal from your phone or router to expand its wifi coverage.
It acts as a bridge that captures the WiFi signal from your phone and then rebroadcast to places where the WiFi is weak or nonexistent this will improve the performance of your mobile hotspot.
Just image a baseball, where your router is the outfielder who gets the ball to the catcher.
A WiFi extender in this case is like the shortstop that is standing between the two, just waiting to receive the ball and throws it in to home plate.
It is important that you pay close attention to your device settings when the range extender is been used because your home WiFi device will remain connected to your mobile hotspot until you manually switch to your wifi extender network, even though your wifi range extender is in closer proximity to your device than your router.
There are some advances in wifi extender technology like the dual bandLinksys RE7000 which basically automate the processes so that the switching happens behind the scenes without any manual action from the user.
Dont Forget To Check The Router
Although we already talked about a wifi router, it never hurts to mention again because this is an important step that many people overlook. Even though the purpose of a wifi extender is to boost the range of the connection, the extender relies on a good connection with the wifi router. Again, if the router works poorly, your wifi extender setup will be frustrating and may not even work. So dont forget to check out the condition and placement of the router.

Do You Need A Wifi Extender
In some cases theWiFi routerplacement is actually the culprit for your dead spot woes. So before you buy a range extender, you should try placing your wireless mobile hotspot or router in the most centralized location in your home.
If the mobile hotspot or router is located in the far corner of your home, the obviously its not maximizing the WiFi reach. So when you place your router or mobile hotspot as close to the middle of your living space as possible, it will automatically take advantage of the full 360° WiFi signal coverage.
Sometimes it is the layout of your home that may not put the wireless router or hotspot in an open, centralized area. Or perhaps you tried putting the router in the best possible location but still you have WiFi dead zones. In such cases, you will have to consider getting a WiFi booster.
Choosing The Right Model
The first step when setting up a range extender is simply to decide whether you want to buy a compact model that plugs directly into a mains power socket, or a larger model that will need to sit on a desk or shelf.
The plug-in models are really convenient, although a desktop model may have additional features, such as Ethernet ports, which can come in handy as well. Well go with this RE650 extender from TP-Link, which is a fast and affordable plug-in option for around $120/£80/AU$180. However, the set-up process will be similar for desktop models as well.

Having Trouble Getting A Solid Reliable Wifi Signal In Some Parts Of Your Home A Wifi Repeater Could Be The Solution For You
A WiFi repeater or extender is used to extend the coverage area of your WiFi network. It works by receiving your existing WiFi signal, amplifying it and then transmitting the boosted signal. With a WiFi repeater you can effectively double the coverage area of your WiFi network – reaching far corners of your home or office, different floors, or even extend coverage to your yard.
Whats the difference between a WiFi booster, repeater, or extender?
WiFi boosters, repeaters, and extenders are mostly the same thing – devices to improve WiFi coverage. There isnt a clearly defined difference between devices that manufacturers describe as repeaters and devices described as extenders. However, not all WiFi extenders work in the exact same way. There are several different kinds of devices available and below we aim to explain what those differences are and how they work, so that you can choose the best WiFi repeater for your circumstances.
I have trouble getting WiFi signal in some corners of my house. What should I try first?
There are a couple of solutions to try before opting for a WiFi extender. The simplest is to try moving the location of your WiFi router. It should be in the most central location possible. If that doesnt help check if your router needs to be upgraded. If youve had an older model for many years, it could be time for an upgrade to a more powerful model.
My WiFi is in the best location possible! My router is up-to-date! But my coverage is still unreliable!
Why Use Your Smartphone As A Wi
While we understand that there are more robust ways to extend the range of your Wi-Fi network , it is not pragmatic to invest in a Mesh network in case you only need to use it occasionally. For one-off use cases, it is cheaper to simply convert your smartphone into a Wi-Fi repeater.
The primary function of a Wi-Fi repeater is to extend the coverage of a Wi-Fi network to areas with weaker reception. For example, if you’re having a party on your terrace and your router’s Wi-Fi signal does not quite reach you, you can place your smartphone closer to the terrace – but not far enough from the router. Once the smartphone acts as a repeater, it can let you access the internet via the same router even though it is not technically in range.
Depending on the smartphone model you own, there are several ways to turn it into a Wi-Fi extender. Let’s take a look at some of those methods.
