    Use A Power Shell Command

Coming to a more advanced method in the Power Shell, you can use a Network Shell command to view a bunch of details about your network, including its password.

Furthermore, you can also use this method to view the passwords of all the networks your PC has connected to previously. For example, if you want to know your office network password while you are home, you can do so using this method without needing to connect to the office network. However, this will not work if you have used the Forget option to forget a networks details.

First, you need to know the name of the WiFi network to use the netsh command. This isnt an issue if you are already connected to the network as you can see the name, but it will be a problem if you need to see a previously connected networks password. Thankfully, you can use a Power Shell command to see the list of all the networks you have connected to before.

Note: You can use these same commands in Command Prompt, too, if you cannot access Power Shell for some reason.

Right-click on the Start menu and select Power Shell from the list.

Here enter this command netsh wlan show profiles and press the Enter key. You will see all the saved networks name under the User profiles section.

Just copy the name of the network from here so you could easily use it in the next command.

To know the password of any one of the saved networks, use the below-mentioned command and replace the wifiname part with the actual name of the network.

How to recover a forgotten Wi

    ITworld|

If you can’t remember that ridiculously long and complex password you set up on your wireless router, I don’t blame you. It’s probably been a while since you set that up, and we all have too many other passwords to remember, for things we use more often. Still, it’s helpful to be able to retrieve the network password for those times when we add a new device or have a friend over who wants to jump onto our Wi-Fi network. Here’s how to find that mysterious password.

In Windows, click on the wireless network icon in the taskbar, and right-click on your Wi-Fi network’s name, then select “View connection properties.” Go to the Security tab and check the “Show characters” box to reveal the Wi-Fi network password.

If you have more than one Wi-Fi network you connect to at home or at work, AddictiveTips recommends a small portable utility called SterJo Wireless Passwords, which displays all your saved passwords for multiple networks.

Using a Mac? Head to your Applications folder, then Utilities, and open up the Keychain Access app. Double-click the name of your wireless network and check to “Show Password” and you’ll find your security key there.

If you haven’t changed your wireless router’s WEP/WPA key from the default, you can also check the back of your router or modem for a tag that has it printed on. However, it’s never a good idea to use the default settings, so now’s a good time to come up with a unique network name, administrator login, and Wi-Fi password.
