Check If Your Windows 10 Pc Is Wi
Using Wi-Fi Direct to send a file is faster and simpler than Bluetooth.
First, however, you’ll need to check that your device is Wi-Fi Direct-compatible. You can do this by pressing Windows Key +R, entering CMD to open the Command Prompt then entering ipconfig /all.
If Wi-Fi Direct is available, you should see an entry labeled Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter.
Next, you’ll need to start transferring data over Wi-Fi Direct. However, this isn’t as obvious as you would expect

Step I: Pick up your Samsung Galaxy S II and open the Settings menu.

Step III: Next you can see there is an option Configure Wi-Fi Direct, if you want to change the Device name or set a password. You can secure your Wi-Fi Direct by setting a password, so that only users with this password can connect with your device through Wi-Fi Direct.
Step IV: After making changes, click on first option Wi-Fi Direct, it will activate the function. You need to activate the same functionality on other Android device capable of this feature.
Step V: As soon as you will activate the functionality on other device, it will show the found Wi-Fi devices near around and click on that device, it will take few seconds to make a successful connection between the devices.
Step VI: After the connection is successful, you should try to transfer a file through Wi-Fi Direct, for this either you go to your file manager or gallery. Choose any file and click on and choose Wi-Fi. It will directly start sending the selected file to the connected device. You might be wondering about the transfer speed, its really fast!

How To Set Up Wi
Every Android smartphone that uses Android 4.0 and above has Wi-Fi Direct functionality . While the systems’ user interfaces might vary, setting this functionality up is relatively simple and unified across all devices. Wi-Fi Direct, until recently, did not offer native support for file transfers. That no longer is the case, thanks to a newly introduced feature called Nearby Share. Google also has its own app called ‘Files’ that includes a File transfer functionality .
Most modern smartphones do not require you to manually ‘turn on’ Wi-Fi Direct. The feature is automatically turned on when you turn the Wi-Fi on. To check the status of Wi-Fi Direct on your device, go into Settings -> Network & internet -> Wi-Fi -> Wi-Fi preferences and then tap Wi-Fi Direct. Your smartphone will start scanning for devices that you can connect to.
Unlike with Bluetooth, there is no button or anything that you need to tap to turn Wi-Fi Direct on. Wi-Fi Direct is enabled the moment you have a stable internet connection. This doesn’t mean that Wi-Fi Direct is on all the time. Your smartphone only starts scanning for nearby devices to connect to when you tap on the Wi-Fi Direct tab.
Important: You also need to turn on Wi-Fi direct on your laptop, television, printer, or whichever device you are connecting to, as well as having activated it on your smartphone using the steps above.
