Now that the static channel has been set, you can exit the main routers settings.
Lets configure the router that will operate in the WDS mode. In my case, the specific model being used is T-Link Archer C20. Go to the router settings.
Go to the settings again, but this time the IP address will be different 192.168.0.2. The one you have specified before.
Now check the box next to Enable WDS, and click on Scan.

I created a Homegroup on the PC wired to the router and then created a home group on a laptop entering the Password created on the PC but when opening Homegroup after the setup, I cannot see the other computer, from either computer. Both are hardwired to the router.
In the Network and Sharing Center, the Laptop is connected to my router SSID and the PC is connected to a network called Network 3. It appears that these are on two different networks so the computers cannot see each other.
How do I delete a network name and get them to connect to the same network? I have no idea why there is one called Network 3.
I have Uninstalled the Network Adaptor and rebooted and it was reinstalled but still Network 3.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On the other hand, the 5 GHz band is for the modern devices that are not compatible with the other band. Thus, choosing which band to use solely depends on what band your device is compatible with.
In addition, you should also understand that the 2.4 GHz band is slower than the 5 GHz band. Thus, if your device can support the two bands, you must consider where you will need the wireless connection for.
If you are going to stream or download videos, music, and others, choosing the network with a higher band will be better. If you just simply browse and check emails, the 2.4 GHz will be enough. Choosing the 5 GHz band in your dual-band network router will also be best if you are experiencing slow connections and if there are a lot of devices connected to the network.
Nevertheless, according to experts, it will be better for you choose the 2.4 GHz band for general use unless there are specific tasks that you need to accomplish. But, if you have a simultaneous dual-band router, you can set up a specific connection for each device based on its purpose.
B Devices Slow Down Newer Networks
Just having a device running an older wireless standard nearby wont slow down your network, despite rumors otherwise. If your neighbor is using an ancient 802.11b device on their network, your network wont see any slow-downs because of that assuming theyre on a different wireless channel
Using an old 802.11b device on a modern 802.11g or 802.11n network will slow down the network as modern devices have to resort to dirty hacks to avoid breaking the old 802.11b device. If you have an 802.11b device on the same network, thatll slow things down for everyone on that network. If there are multiple networks on the same wireless channel, the 802.11b device can also slow down networks on the same channel.
On the other hand, using an 802.11g device on a faster 802.11n network wont slow things down in the same way. More modern wireless network standards handle this in a more sane way, so you only really need to worry about replacing those ancient 802.11b devices. And yes, those devices are quite ancient in consumer technology terms 802.11b came out back in 1999, and it was replaced by 802.11g back in 2003.
Your neighbors can use 802.11b devices all they like without bothering you assuming your Wi-Fi network isnt sharing a channel with theirs. This is yet another reason to switch to 5 GHz Wi-Fi, where those 802.11b devices cant go.

Enable The Guest Network
Ethernet cables are no use if you want to use a phone or tablet on a second network. But some routers even if they are older models offer a guest network which provides internet access for guests but no way to poke around on your home network and access any of the devices connected to it.
You will need to log onto your routers web interface to find out if it has a guest network option. Usually thats disabled by default.
But where guest networks are supported, they usually also have a setting where you can restrict how much bandwidth guests can use. For example, if you have a 20Mbps broadband connection, setting the guest network to have 10% of the available bandwidth gives all guest users 2Mbps to share.
You will be able to set a network name a separate password for this network and its then simply a case of connecting all your kids devices to the new network and forgetting the old network so they cant reconnect to it.
An easier option is simply to change the password of the old network.

I already rebooted the router and I can see both bands but, the problem is with the driver, as has mentioned, so my only concern now, is that, the laptop will forever have slower download speed than the devices that can connect to 5GHz! I ran speed test on both devices and it’s definitely slower
