Update Wireless Drivers & Network Adapter Driver
Device drivers provide information about how your operating system and other software interact with particular hardware on your computer. If you still have no internet connection, check for driver updates on your computer.
- Right click Start > Device Manager, and then right-click on your wireless driver and select Update driver.
- Select to Search automatically for updated driver software or Browse your computer for driver software and then click Browse.
You can also uninstall the driver, and reinstall the correct drivers from the device manufacturers site. Restart the computer once done, and test the internet connection to see if it works.
What About A Factory Reset
If your device used to connect to the internet but it doesnt anymore, a factory reset might fix the problem, but only if the issue is with the software, rather than the hardware. Plus, it will most likely come at the cost of all the personal files you have saved on it, and will take a considerable amount of time, so only do this if youve safely backed up all your files and youve tried everything else.
On the bright side: if you factory reset the thing and its still not working, youll know for sure the problem is with the hardware and if you intend to just get a new device, then your current one will already be in a recycle-safe state. Silver linings!
For Windows 10
Open up the Start menu and start typing reset.
Click Reset this PC.
Under the Reset this PC section, click Get started.
Youll have the option to keep your personal files or not. We suggest you try keeping them first, but make sure you have a backup ready anyway.
Your reset will begin. Make sure your PC remains plugged in, otherwise you risk causing errors.
First, make sure youve done your backups.
De-authorize your iTunes account, as well as any other third-party app that has limited installs, since a freshly reset Mac will be counted towards your limit.
Its fairly easy for iTunes, at least: open up the app, then click Account.
Click , then De-authorise This Computer.
Enter your login details and youll be good to go.
Click Disk Utility, then Continue.
Backup your data .
Two: Do A Reboot On Your Modem And/or Router
Have you tried turning it off, and turning it on again? Its a solution so stupidly simple, that its become a cliche. But its a simple fix when you have no internet connection, and you should always start with the simple solutions first. If you only have a router and no modem, turn it off, and unplug it from the wall. Give it a minute to rest, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
If you have both a router and a modem in your house, power them both off, unplug them, and wait a minute or two. Then plug in the modem first, and after a minute, plug in the router. It generally takes about five to 10 minutes for these devices to reboot and power back up again. Then its time to go back and check whether your devices are connected again.
If youre looking for how to fix no internet connection problems at your house, this is one of the best and most effective fixes. Yet, sometimes, even this doesnt work. What to do then? Its time to try step three.

How To Tell If You Have Internet Service Provider Problems
The first thing you can do is go to your internet providers customer service site to check if local outages are affecting your connection.
If there arent local outages, call your internet provider. They may tell you about outages that havent been updated online yet. They can also let you know if you cant get a connection because you have late payments or because they detected illegal data on your network.
Another Wi-Fi issue you might experience related to your provider is internet throttling. Run a standard internet speed test and then a VPN speed test during different online activities and different times of the day. You can then compare the speeds and see if your internet provider is throttling your internet connection.
How To Fix Your Network Problems
1. Just as your IT guy starts with a computer reboot, your internet service provider will tell you to unplug your modem and then plug it back in. If that doesnt work, unplug your router, give it a minute and then plug it back in. Sometimes, restarting your modem or router will reset your network and the issue magically disappears.
2. Next, check your wireless network configuration. Many routers today use dual-band technology to extend the routers range and Wi-Fi speeds. That means your router enables Wi-Fi communication via 2.4 GHz channels or 5 GHz channels.
However, settings on your router could have changed without you knowing and require your device to use a specific channel. Sometimes those channels appear like separate Wi-Fi networks on your device. Your phone or laptop may try to connect to a specific channel that seems available, but its not the network connection your router now requires. Check what channel your routers using by logging into your routers web interface.
Once you figure out if your router is set to a specific channel, you can also reset which channel your router uses. Resetting the channel can fix connection issues caused by an overcrowded Wi-Fi channel. Most 2.4 GHz routers come with a default channel of 6, but you can change the channel by logging into your routers control panel using the router IP address.

Check If Mobile Data Is Turned Off
At times, when you have mobile data turned on and then connect to a WiFi network, you might not be able to access the internet. So, try disabling mobile data to fix the issue.
Now, you might be thinking Android is too smart for this. But occasionally, when you connect to a WiFi network, Android will prioritize WiFi over the mobile data. However, some networks require users to log in before they can access the internet. Even after logging in, Android might not see it as an active connection and still use mobile data. Under such circumstances, Android might not be able to connect to the internet on both networks.
TL DR, try disabling mobile data and then connect to the WiFi network.
Can Connect To Wireless Router But Not To The Internet
A series of steps to pinpoint the problem
Its hard to imagine that just two decades ago, only about one percent of the worlds population was online. Today, more than 4.3 billion people are actively using the internet, which is more than half of the global population. Thats how important having an internet connection is.
A few things can be quite frustrating as not having internet access though. On the one hand, you can connect to your wireless router, but on the other, you get the dreaded No Internet Access yellow triangle over the internet connection icon.
While its not easy to immediately detect whether the problem is with your router, computer, or your Internet Service Provider , you can fix this error and get back online. Were going to show you how in this guide.
Also, we made a quick YouTube video on some of the steps that we have below so check it out first and if it doesnt solve your problem, come back here for more solutions.

Force Open The Networks Login Page
Hotels, airports, and cafes often provide free internetusually all you have to do is open your browser and sign onto the public Wi-Fi network through a login screen. But what if that login page refuses to load?
You can force open the login page by typing one of these codes into your browsers address bar:
Clear Your Browser Cache
The browser cache is a little trove of website data that can help you load pages faster, and can also interfere with your connection if something goes wrong. Clearing your browser cache is something done on a by-browser basis, so find your preferred browser on the list below. By the way, cleaning your browser also makes it safer, so even if this doesnt fix your Wi-Fi, its still worth doing.
Click History, then on the side menu, hit History again.
A new tab should open up. Look to the left and find Clear browsing data. You can find it with the three bars up top as well.
Another new tab will open, as well as a popup. Change the top down menu to All time and make sure the box next to Cached images and files is checked.
Click Clear data and see if that helps.
Change the time range to All time then make sure Cached images and files is checked.
Click Clear and youre done.
Open the app.
Find the O-menu button on the bottom right and tap it.
Click the clock icon, thats your History, then tap the trash icon on the upper right. Confirm you want to clear your browsing history.
Thats actually all. See if it helped.

Way 1 Turn Off And On Wifi On Your Phone
The first thing we suggest you do is toggle the Wi-Fi option on your device. What it does is it de-activates the Wi-Fi option and then activates it again which gives your phone a second chance to establish a proper connection to your Wi-Fi router.
To toggle Wi-Fi, open the Settings app on your device and tap on Wi-Fi & internet. Turn the toggle to the OFF position on the following screen to disable Wi-Fi on your device. Wait for about thirty seconds and turn the toggle back to the ON position.
It should likely fix the Wi-Fi issue you are facing on your device.
One Device Cant Connect To The Wi
Sometimes you run into a Wi-Fi issue with one particular device. Its probably just a momentary network issue. Try turning off the Wi-Fi on your device, then re-enabling it. If that doesnt work, do the same with your router by unplugging it and then plugging it back in 30 seconds later.
If that doesnt help, or if the problem reoccurs, consider deleting your current network from the list of saved networks on your device, then reconnect again.
If youre running Windows 10, search for wifi troubleshooting and open the result, which should be Identify and Repair Network Issues. That will go through a series of diagnostics that may restore connectivity. On MacOS, you can run Wireless Diagnostics. Hold the Options key and click the AirPort icon on the menu bar. Find Open Wireless Diagnostics, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
If none of that works, consider rebooting the device.

My Game Console Cant Connect To Wi
First, check social media and Downdetector to make sure nothing is wrong with your gaming platform sometimes Xbox Live or Playstation Network goes down for any number of reasons, but theyre typically back up again after a short period.
If everything looks all right there, reboot both your router and your game console and see if they can successfully connect. This is also a good time to test your internet connection. Major systems like Xbox and PlayStation have an option in their Settings menu to test your internet connection. On PlayStation, head to Settings, then Network, then select Test Internet Connection. On Xbox, go to Profile & System, select Settings, and in the General section, select Network Settings, where you will find an option to Test Network Speed & Statistics. This can provide more information about whats going wrong, and even tips on what you may need to change.
If your console and router seem to be acting properly but Wi-Fi keeps dropping, you may want to try moving the two devices closer to each other to see if the Wi-Fi signal improves. Try to remove any material or objects between the console and router: Placing both in a high, clear location often brings the best results.
How To Diagnose The Problem With Your Home Internet Connection
The larger issue of my internet isnt working can fall into a few different categories.
Before you can get started on troubleshooting, you need to figure out which of these youre dealing with:
Single-device connection issue – If you can connect to your home internet network using one device but not another, THIS is your issue. Make sure the device that DOES connect is connected through your home network, and not a nearby network with another name.
Home internet network slowdown – If EVERY device in your network is slow, THIS is likely your issue.
Home internet network disconnection – If you cant connect to the internet via your home network on any device, regardless of whether its via WiFi or a wired connection, THIS is likely your issue.
Service area disruption – If your modem or router indicator light shows NO incoming internet
What youll need to do to address the issue depends on which issue youre dealing with.

Connections Drop At Random Times
Is there some sort of pattern? Do connections drop whenever you use the microwave? It may sound weird, but some routers have trouble with this, especially on the 2.5GHz frequency, or if youre using an older microwave with shield problems.
It could be that youre experiencing interference from other networks or devices. If your neighbors are heavy Wi-Fi users at a particular time each day, this could be slowing you down. Changing your routers channel might help. You can use NetSpot on Mac and Windows and Wi-Fi Analyzer for Android to show you every wireless network nearby. If yours overlaps with nearby networks, switching to a less congested channel in your router settings can help.
If that doesnt work, try performing a factory reset on your router by pressing a paperclip into the miniature hole on it.
Try Disabling Your Firewall
Your firewall is designed to prevent unauthorized access to your computer, but sometimes it can conflict with your Wi-Fi network. Try disabling the Windows firewall to see whether the Wi-Fi works with it turned off. If you have more than one firewall installed, open the management software for the other firewall and turn it off there.
- Press Windows key + X.
